LINC Child-minding
BFL provides quality care for children while their parents or guardians participate in Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) classes.
The program offers services to children from 18 months up to school age six years. Various learning opportunities are provided to support early learning and development of children of immigrant families. The program values cultural diversity and aims to increase the family’s knowledge of children’s health and development, community resources and opportunities for family networking and advocacy.
The LINC Child-minding Program enhances growth and development in children by offering a sensitive, nurturing environment through play-based programming.
BFL does not manage registration for this program.
Developmentally appropriate activities nurture children’s development as well as support newcomer children who are faced with settlement issues; many of them with limited English and different cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Parents have opportunities to talk with staff and learn about child development, parenting in Canada and other issues of concern for families.
The Child-minding Program is currently being delivered at 3 different locations.
